Contemporary Works

Contemporary Chassidic Works:

Lessons in Tanya: Written by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812), the founder of Chabad, Tanya is the central text of Chabad Chassidism. Its stated aim is to show a path to realizing one's purpose and developing a deeper relationship with G-d.

Torah Studies: In this collection of lucid adaptations of the Rebbe's talks on the weekly Torah readings and Jewish holidays, each question is not only resolved but also revealed to be the starting point of a major spiritual search, a journey to the inner sanctum of Torah.

What we Believe: We all believe in G-d. Some of us know that we do. Some of us refuse to admit it. Others who profess to believe are vague as to what they believe in. These essays probe to the core of some of the essential issues of Jewish faith and provide explanations based on the mystic understanding of Chabad Chassidic teachings.

Heaven on Earth: This extraordinary book explores the drama of creation, the fusion of holiness inside the mundane, the spiritual role and function of Mitzvot, the afterlife, and much more.

The Key to Kabbalah: The Key to Kabbalah will open up the world of Jewish mysticism, giving you your first thirst-quenching sips of the teachings of Pnimiyut HaTorah, the inner dimension of the Torah. This volume provides an overview of the history, principles, content and nature of the Kabbalah and introduces the breadth and depth of the inner-spiritual dimensions of Torah.

Chassidic Dimensions: The Chassidic response to the tension between emotive religious experience and the categorical imperatives of Halacha, and the philosophy of Chabad activism for religious revival which has revolutionized the Jewish religious life and conciousness, are so strongly identified with chassidic thought that many do not realize that they derive wholly from the Talmud, Midrash, and other classic traditions.

In The Garden of Torah: This two-volume set contains unique insights into the weekly Torah portion by looking through the portal of each sidra's name. Gleaned from talks of the Rebbe, these essays provide a dynamic thrust toward personal growth.

Through the Eyes of a Woman: Nechama Greisman's classes on the weekly sidra are conveyed through a unique perspective - that of a chassidic woman.

Listening to Life's Messages: Baseball, computers, art, atomic energy, accounting, vaccination-what do all of these have in common? In the eyes of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, each holds a unique opportunity for spiritual growth. These are just a few of the many, everyday events which are transformed into opportunities for achievement contained in this slim paperback volume.

The Chassidic Dimension: These essays were first published in monthly collections entitled From the Wellsprings of Chasidus. Each volume covers a complete cycle of the Torah readings, presenting concise insights and ideas for year-round learning.

Letters of Light: As a carpenter employs tools to build a home, so G-d utilized the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew Alphabet, the alef-beis, to form heaven and earth. In Letters of Light, the essence of these holy letters is explored, illustrating how the letters continue to be a source of creation, reflection, prayer and inspiration in our everyday lives.

The Chassidic Approach to Joy: Genuine joy comes from profound spiritual awareness on life and an absolute clarity of direction, living for a purpose. The Chassidic Approach to Joy explores the mystical depths of one's soul as well as the universe at large, on the well-traveled path to pure, internal happiness.

Attaining Sagacity: A talk delivered by the Lubavitcher Rebbe at a public gathering celebrating his sixtieth birthday. These talks explain the special significance of this age in a person's life.

Keeping in Touch: Written for the modern day, thoughtful professional, who wishes to live up to life's ideals and would benefit from the distinct vision of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Every section explores a theme with a telling personal encounter with the Rebbe; a thought on the Torah portion or holiday; and a closing composition to guide the reader from inspiration to action.

Proceeding Together: After turning to the Rebbe for guidance in every conceivable situation for over forty years, when does a Chassid feels the void of not being able to see his Rebbe, he Instinctively turns to the words of the Rebbe at a similar time. Proceeding Together contains the earliest talks and letters of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, soon after the passing of his father-in-law and predecessor, the Sixth Rebbe (Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn) on 10 Shvat 5710 [1950].

I Will Write It In Their Hearts: (vol 1): In the Rebbe's correspondence we see his scholarship, the care he has for every individual Jew, the communal projects which he pioneered, and many other dimensions of his leadership. The Rebbe gives a person an insight that lifts him above the vantage point from which he operated previously and gives him the perspective to find a solution to his difficulties.

The Curtain Parted: The weekly Torah portion provides context and inspiration to our lives. Join us as we travel together to see how the laws and stories from each Torah portion are relevant to the spiritual psyche of each Jew. Lessons for life based on the Rebbe's talks.

The Ladder Up: A sequential approach to self improvement from the author's perspective and topics important to personal growth in the modern age.

Living With Moshiach: These concise, inspiring and articulate discussions on Moshiach, arranged according to the weekly and holiday Torah portions, are based on the works of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, and allow one to truly "live with the time" and "live with Moshiach"

Beautiful Within: The Rebbe's talks and letters pertaining to the important subject of tznius is truly vast. What follows in this pamphlet is by no means exhaustive; it is but a sampling of some of the more readily available writings of the Rebbe on this vital subject.
