Verification Worksheets
Your application may be randomly selected by the U.S. Department of Education to be reviewed under a process called verification. This is a process of comparing information from your application with your Federal tax forms or other financial documents. If there are differences between your application and your financial documents corrections will need to be made.
How to Choose from the Two Worksheets
Independent
Students applying for the 2011-2012 school year: If you were born before January 1, 1988, are married, are in a Postgraduate degree program, have children who receive more than half of their support from you now and through June 30, 2012, if both of your parents are deceased, if you are now or were up to age 18 a ward of the court or if you are a veteran of U.S. Armed Forces, you must complete the following form:
2012-2013 Verification Worksheet
Return the completed form to the MJI Financial Aid Administration with a copy of your signed 2010 income tax return for verification.
Dependent
If you do not meet any of the above criteria, regardless of your personal finances or living arrangements, you must complete the following form

Return the completed form to the MJI Financial Aid Administration with a copy of your parent's signed 2010 income tax return and a signed copy of your 2010 income tax return for verification.

If you have encountered a significant change to your financial situation since filing your taxes or any other special financial circumstances please contact the MJI Financial Aid Administrator immediately upon receiving the student aid report responding to your FAFSA.
