Application and Admission Procedures

Applicants for the MJI Study Abroad Program must complete a number of steps to qualify:

  • Students are responsible for meeting the qualifications for admission to their host school abroad.  Students should contact an MJI advisor to determine if the host school is eligible for MJI's Study Abroad Program.
  • Students must complete the MJI application process and be accepted as a full time MJI student no later than September 1 prior to the academic year desired for the Study Abroad Program.  Instructions for the Application for Admission can be found here.
  • Students should contact their High School and any other schools attended since High Scholl and have each school send an official academic transcript directly to the Michigan Jewish Institute.  You may use the Transcript Request Form provided.
  • Students are strongly urged to arrange a meeting with an MJI advisor to plan short and long-term academic goals.  MJI will contact the student's selected host school abroad to verify the student's admission and arrange for the proper transfer of credits to MJI as each semester is completed.
  • To insure proper processing and timely receipt of financial awards, students applying for financial aid should complete and provide all necessary documentation concerning financial aid no later than June 1 prior to the academic year desired for the Study Abroad Program.  The financial aid process is explained here.
