Dean’s List

The Dean’s list consists of those full-time students whose grade- point average (GPA) is 3.5 or higher for a minimum of two consecutive semesters. Students who registered for six to eleven credits require a 4.0 GPA during those semesters. Students who have open Incompletes on their grade records are not eligible for this honor. Students will remain on the dean’s list for as long as they maintain these standards.

Graduation Honors

A student who has attained a 3.5 GPA at graduation will be entitled to the honor of Cum Laude; a student who has attained a 3.65 GPA at graduation will be entitled to the high honor of Magna Cum Laude; and a student who has attained a 3.85 GPA at graduation will be entitled to the highest honor of Summa Cum Laude. In each case, the diploma will indicate the honor. Only courses taken at MJI are used to compute this average. To qualify for graduation honors, a student must have completed at least 55 credits at MJI.
